The Turkish army says more than 150 Kurdish PKK rebels have been killed in northern Iraq in air strikes carried out since Thursday. A statement on the Turkish army website said it destroyed PKK posts in Qandil area in the operation.

Turkish troops enter north Iraq ... In February, Turkish troops conducted a large-scale incursion across the border. The PKK, which is fighting for an ethnic homeland in southeastern Turkey, uses northern Iraq as a base to stage attacks on Turkish territory. The US and the European Union consider the PKK a terrorist organization.
