Father of German-Iraqi Hostage Appeals to Kidnappers ... cruise ship stranded in the Baltic Sea. The German-owned 'Mona Lisa' was sailing from the Polish port of Gdansk to the Latvian capital, Riga, when it ran aground on a sandbank.
Coastguard services said Latvian naval vessels were transporting the passengers to shore after efforts to re-float the ship failed.
