In the aftermath of Saturday's cyclone in Burma international agencies are pushing to gain access for a massive aid operation. The European Commission's envoy to Burma said the EU body had made just over 1 million Euros immediately available but were still waiting to get into the country.
The World Food Programme says the UN has been given cautious approval and is gearing up to deliver aid as quickly as possible to the hundreds of thousands without clean water or shelter. State officials have put the death toll around 15,000 with another 30,000 people missing.
