Germany has vowed to double its aid contributions to Sudan on the second day of the donor's conference in Oslo.
The annual meeting in the Norwegian capital is aimed at helping Africa's largest nation recover from years of internal warfare that has cost over 2 million lives. Sudan has said it needs nearly 4 billion Euros by 2011 on top of humanitarian aid. Sudan's vice president, Ali Osman Taha, urged the conference to put their focus on development; saying the transition from humanitarian aid to development aid was Sudan's best hope for peace.
