Two Israeli air strikes have killed five Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
Medical sources said all five were members of the militant group Hamas, which controls Gaza. The air raids on the southern towns of Rafah and Khan Younis followed a Palestinian mortar attack launched from Gaza that killed an Israeli civilian. Hamas has claimed responsibility for that attack.
