Bus bomb in north Iraq kills 14 ... and radical Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr have reached an agreement to end several weeks of fighting that is believed to have killed several hundred people in Baghdad's Sadr City district.
Under the deal, which is expected to come into effect on Sunday, Sadr's Mehdi Army militia is to lay down its arms, remove snipers, and bombs from roads leading into Sadr City. Meanwhile, Iraqi and US troops have launched a major operation aimed at driving al-Qaeda militants out of the northern city of Mosul. That is thought to be the group's last urban stronghold in Iraq.
