Army intervenes in Beirut clashes ... Hezbollah has agreed to pull its gunmen out of the capital, Beirut, after the army revoked two government measures that sparked four days of clashes.
More than 35 people have been killed in gun battles between Hezbollah fighters and government supporters. The crisis erupted after the government sacked the head of security at Beirut airport, and announced it was taking action against Hezbollah's military communications network. Witnesses say that Hezbollah has begun to withdraw from the streets of Beirut, ending a crisis that threatened to plunge the country into civil war.
