Hajek will not leave the Presidential Office.
He will become its deputy head and will deal with its communication and culture strategy, the office said. The media recently speculated about the forthcoming changes among Klaus's aides and head of the Presidential Office Jiri Weigl told the Tyden.cz server that some changes were being prepared. Tyden.cz said the replacement should make the department work in a more flexible fashion. Under the Communist regime, Hajek worked in the magazine Kvety (Flowers) and after its fall he helped establish the weekly Reflex. He has worked alongside Klaus since the 1990s when he was involved in the election campaign of Klaus's ODS.
