Human Rights Watch has voiced concern over mass arrests in Khartoum after an attack on Sudan's capital by Darfur rebels last week.
The human rights organisation said it had received unconfirmed reports of torture and at least two public executions. Sudan's government has arrested at least 300 people on suspicion of cooperating with the rebels since Monday. The Sudanese government on Sunday cut its diplomatic ties with Chad, whom Khartoum has accused of aiding the Darfur rebels. The Chadian government has responded by closing its border with Sudan.
