The European Union has urged Burma's military junta to allow aid to an estimated 1.5 million people facing hunger and disease in the aftermath of Cyclone Nargis.
A statement agreed by EU development ministers at an emergency meeting in Brussels however stopped short of calling for the world to deliver aid without the junta's approval.
