New Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has confirmed that he will visit Germany in early June for his first trip to Europe since being inaugurated.
Medvedev, who was inaugurated on May 7, made the announcement at a meeting with visitng German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steimeier. Earlier Steinmeier met for talks with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov. The meeting was thought to have centred on the situation in Serbia and Kosovo. Another topic was a new partnership agreement between the European Union and Russia.
