The NATO coalition in Afghanistan says airstrikes have killed more than 30 insurgents in the country's east.

Afghanistan Tops Agenda on Day Two of NATO Summit ... combining NATO troops in Afghanistan and Pakistani soldiers along the rugged border. Meanwhile in northern Afghanistan, Germany has taken over leadership of the so called Quick Reaction Force. The task was previously conducted by Norway. It is the first time Germany has provided a combat unit to the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan.
