Iran's chief nuclear negotiator says his country's response to an incentives package offered by six world powers aimed at resolving a standoff over its disputed nuclear ambitions is "constructive and creative".
Saeed Jalili's comments came in a telephone call to EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana, who has fronted talks with Tehran on behalf of Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United States. The two agreed to hold further discussions later this month according to Iranian state radio. Although the wording of the response has not yet been made public, analysts and diplomats say they detect a softer tone from Iran towards the nuclear incentives offer.
