About 5,000 people gathered at a stadium in the city of Petaling Jaya on Sunday demanding that oil prices be reduced. Police said the rally was illegal, but did not intervene. Public anger is high after the government increased the country's subsidized gasoline prices by 41 percent and diesel prices by 63 percent last month.
