Share of immigrants in Czech population growing-study, press ... That's according to a statement the Russian Foreign Ministry posted on its website. The announcement comes just hours after the US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice signed a missile defence deal with the Czech Republic in Prague. The treaty allows for the US to build and operate a radar base near Prague as part of a global missile defence system. Washington claims the shield is necessary to ward off potential attacks by so-called "rogue" states such as Iran. The shield plan is widely opposed by the Czech public, and the country's centre-right government may have to rely on opposition votes to ratify the treaty.
