Out of the roughly 4700 pages, 700 are lacking, the server writes. "Cunek did not know about this.
It is necessary for the lacking pages to be completed. The firm Knoll must be informed about their content. It will continue with its investigation," Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg said at his webpage today. He said the delivery of the lacking part of the file was a subject of political agreement. Czech Foreign Minister optimistic about ratification of EU treaty ... the text of the audit, the Server Tyden.cz writes that Cunek could have had illegal incomes from the lobbying for the Vsetin arms manufacturer for which he had worked until 1998. "This was told to the detectives by former head of Zbrojovska Vsetin, Karel Dancak," the server said. "Dancak did not say explicitly how Cunek had been rewarded for his lobbying. He indicted his travel expenses had been remunerated in a generous way," it added, referring to the report. This means that the large sums for Cunek's travels could have been fictitious, being an illegal reward for getting a contract, the server writes. Kroll found out that in the 1990s, Cunek was assigned to conduct many special tasks within which he could amass cash from legitimate sources. Kroll thus considers it "possible, but not suspicious that in 1998, Cunek was able to deposit one million crowns in his account." The summary report said that business activities have led to Cunek's further incomes that were not included in the list of the incomes by the auditor entrusted by the state, the server writes. The report did not confirm that Cunek had been bribed. As a result, neither Schwarzenberg nor Cunek are leaving the government. The audit of Cunek's family finances was initiated by Schwarzenberg (for Greens, SZ) who said he would not sit with Cunek in the cabinet unless his financial situation was clarified. Greens chairman Martin Bursik on Sunday released the main points from the audit's five-page summary. He said the document, worked out by the Kroll detective agency, revealed no evidence due to which Cunek should leave the government. Schwarzenberg, who si in Paris now, is to release the whole audit result on the Internet by Tuesday. He refused to comment on the audit for the time being. Cunek said the difference between his official income and his savings, which the police revealed during the investigation of a corruption suspicion, might be caused by the money he saved from the business trip per diem that was not included in the income, but paid in cash. The Kroll agency concluded so in the audit, Cunek added. Cunek, who is also local development minister and senator, was in spring 2007 accused of accepting a 0.5 million crown bribe, in his capacity as mayor of Vsetin, north Moravia, but his prosecution was later halted. Cunek resigned from the government last November when his case of alleged bribery was reopened. It was, however, definitively halted a fortnight later and Cunek returned to the cabinet in April on condition the audit of his family finances worked out by an agency selected by Schwarzenberg would assess his finances.
