IAEA says Iran's nuclear activities remain serious concern ... expected to deal with political issues such as whether Iran would accept the latest offer by the world powers to suspend uranium enrichment in return for political and economic incentives. Heinonen has made a series of visits to Iran as part of the agency's long-standing efforts to make sure there is no military dimension to the programme. On Wednesday, US and British officials said the major powers negotiating with Iran over the issue had agreed that they had no choice but to pursue fresh sanctions. However, Russia said the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany had not agreed to impose new sanctions on Iran.
