South African President Thabo Mbeki is in Zimbabwe's capital Harare to mediate power-sharing talks between opposition and government leaders.
Mbeki is mediate between the country's veteran president Robert Mugabe, Morgan Tsvangirai of the Movement for Democratic Change and Arthur Mutambara, the leader of a smaller MDC faction. Reports from the power-sharing talks, aimed at resolving the country's political crisis that resulting from disputed elections and violence, say the parties have agreed in principle to appointing opposition leader Tsvangirai to the new position of Prime Minister.
