Mauritania's prime minister Yahya Ould Ahmed Waghf has been freed by his captors, five days after being arrested by troops who overthrew the country's government.
The president, the prime minister and Interior Minister were siezed by military forces last Wednesday. Soldiers loyal to junta leader Ould Abdel Aziz, the former head of the presidential guard, overthrew the government in Nouakchott for attempting to fire Mauritania's top military commanders.
