Germany has won its first two gold medals at the Olympic Games in Bejing.
Alexander Grimm came first in the single kayak slalom and Ole Bischof of Germany took gold in the men's 81kg judo competition. German hopes for a medal were dashed in gymnastics though with the men's team only managing fourth place after star gymnast Sebastian Hambüchen unexpectedly lost his grip on the horizontal bar.
