Lebanon rejects Israeli call for peace talks ... Lebanon's civil war. The announcement comes as Lebanese President Michel Suleiman wrapped up an historic two-day visit to Syria. On Wednesday, Sulemain and his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad agreed to establish diplomatic ties and exchange ambassadors. It was the first visit by a Lebanese president to Syria since the 2005 assassination of former premier Rafiq Hariri in Beirut. The murder, which many in Lebanon blame on Syria, triggered the pullout of Syrian forces from Lebanon after almost 30 years of military presence.
