Czech police suspect Bechara of several crimes, for instance, involvement in the kidnapping and death of Lambert Krejcir who died on October 15, 2002. He is also suspected of having embezzled Radovan Krejcir's property. A court in Ceske Budejovice, south Bohemia, is dealing with another case in which Bechara is accused of fraud involving millions of crowns.
