German Chancellor Angela Merkel has criticised Moscow over its handling of the conflict in South Ossetia.
Following a meeting with Russian President Dimitry Medvedev in the Black Sea resort of Sochi, Merkel said some of Russia's actions in Georgia had been excessive. Global Media Forum continues ... added that maintaining Georgia's territorial integrity must be the starting point for any long-term peace plan. Medvedev said that it was highly unlikely that South Ossetia or another break-away region, Abkhazia, would ever be integrated back into Georgia.
