Michael 'to retire from touring' ... Michael Phelps has won his 7th gold medal at the Summer Olympics in Beijing, equalling the record set in 1972 by fellow American, Mark Spitz.
Phelps took the 100-meter butterfly by just a fraction of a second; the first race in which he did not set a world record. In other Olympic news, Germany won the silver and bronze medals in the men's 25-meter rapid fire pistol competition on Saturday. Gold went to Oleksandr Petriv of Ukraine.
