A Malaysian oil tanker has been hijacked in the Gulf of Aden off the coast of Somalia.
The tanker, with a crew of 39 people on board, was heading towards Rotterdam from Dumai in Sumatra when pirates seized control of the vessel. The head of the International Maritime Bureau's piracy reporting center in Kuala Lumpur said it notified Western naval ships patrolling the area and a warship has been sent to intercept the tanker.
