Prague theatres demonstrate in support of culture ... and Fico met in Prague, while the presidents of the two countries, Ivan Gasparovic and Vaclav Klaus, commemorated it in Bratislava. Klaus and Gasparovic agreed that the invasion definitively showed the tragedy and irrationality of the communist regime. Topolanek and Fico laid wreaths to the tomb of Marie Charouskova, a 26-year old student and mother shot dead by a Russian soldier on August 26, 1968. Charouskova was one of the 80 civilians killed during the occupation from August 21 to October 18, 1968. In the afternoon, Topolanek and Fico will open an exhibition on the occupation in the Czech National museum in Prague.
