Topolanek said the only task the ministry has not met on time was the preparation of a new penal code. He noted that work on the new codes was very demanding.
He recalled that it took more than ten years to write a new civil code. The government wants not only to prepare the key codes in judiciary, but also push them through by the elections in 2010. Next year, the parliament is to discuss a new civil code and a new labour code. Topolanek received two gifts made by prisoners from Pospisil, a wooden giraffe and a hand painted jug.
