Thai Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej says he will not resign despite growing pressure from anti-government protesters.
Samak made the statement during a televised ceremony in honor of Thailand's royal family in Bangkok. The so-called People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) have staged five days of protests aimed at toppling Samak's seven-month old government. They have occupied government buildings in Bangkok and disrupted air and rail traffic throughout the country.
