Tens of thousands of Taiwanese have marched in the streets of Taiwan's capital to protest the president's efforts to improve relations with rival China.
Protesters said they were worried that Ma is leaning toward China too quickly and that it might bring disastrous political consequences. Saturday's protest is the first mass rally against President Ma Ying-jeou since his inauguration about 3 months ago. Police say about 40,000 people participated in the rally.
