EU leaders grapple with Lisbon Treaty after Irish rejection ... President Nicolas Sarkozy is in Moscow for talks with the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev over the crisis in Georgia.
He is joined by the European Union foreign policy chief, Javier Solana, and the European Commission head, Jose Manuel Barroso. The meeting comes after Russia's conflict with the Black Sea republic over the breakaway region of South Ossetia. Sarkozy is expected to press Russia to implement fully an EU peace plan he brokered four weeks ago to end the fighting. The European chiefs will then travel to the Georgian capital Tbilisi to meet President Mikhail Saakashvili. Moscow, which still has troops inside Georgia, has refused direct talks with Saakashvili since the conflict.
