Most Czechs indifferent to Czech EU presidency - poll ... lawyers said.Czech consul in India Jan Kreuter said the entomologists, Petr Svacha and Emil Kucera, arrested in June, have already spent one month of the possible sentence in custody.The defence tried to prove at the court in Darjeeling that the Czechs did collect insects without authorisation, but not for commercial purposes and outside the territory of a nature reserve.The plaintiffs claimed that the two scientists confessed to having entered the Singalia national park and that they wanted to trade in the collected insects.Svacha and Kucera, however, said the confession was added to blank sheets of paper that the police forced them to sign under a false pretext.If the charges were fully proved, Svacha and Kucrea could get up to seven years in prison.
