10.09.2008 - Czech policemen suspected of aiding illegal immigrants
The inspection has proposed that prosecution be launched in the case of two policemen and another four people on suspicion of abuse of public office, bribery and unauthorised use of personal data, Lidlova said.
She added that a state attorney should launch prosecution today.
The suspected policemen, who work as deputy heads of the residence permit department at the Foreigner Police Inspectorate in Brno, also received material and financial rewards for their preferential and smooth handling of foreigners' residence permit applications.
All the six suspects will be prosecuted without being taken into custody, Lidlova added.
