Czech PM wants deputy Tlusty to leave lower house ...
Czech MEP must apologise for bribery allegations ... the point of view of journalistic ethics, the statement says."The problem requires a wide discussion among journalists.
The Syndicate of Journalists will organise it in the next days," it says. The report was designed to disclose Czech politics behind-the-scene practices. According to it, ODS deputy Jan Morava, 29, tried to distribute intimate pictures of his party colleague Tlusty, who is considered a rebel in the ODS.Morava also agreed to feature on a picture with Zubova's daughter and he wanted to use the pictures to intimidate Zubova who often does not vote along with the coalition."The goal the report followed is clearly in the public interest," the Syndicate says. The published information could not be confirmed only with the use of a secret camera. However, the behaviour of a journalist who acts under the secret identity and the use of an agent-provocateur is ambiguous from the point of view of journalistic ethics, the statement says.Tlusty himself participated in the preparation of the pictures compromising him and he also cooperate with journalists serving as a "bait." Morava, who on Monday gave up his deputy's mandate over the scandal says that he only yielded to a provocation. He says he did not want to blackmail anyone and only tried to find out who produces pictures and distributes them. The report did not give a clear answer to whether Morava's activities were his personal initiative or whether members of the ODS leadership knew about them. The case provoked tension within the ODS. Prime Minister and ODS chairman Mirek Topolanek said previously that the media were partly responsible for triggering the scandal.According to Topolanek, Tlusty also bears his part of responsibility. At the weekend, the ODS leadership called on Tlusty to give up his deputy's mandate and leave the ODS, but Tlusty has refused to do so.Other ODS deputies are considering leaving the deputies' group due to the scandal.
