Thunderstorms, torrential rains, strong wind ravage CzechRep ... and returned the case for reappraisal in both cases.Barkova has been charged with having cheated an insurance company when she claimed insurance money for an alleged damage to her property in Buzice, south Bohemia, including a stable and a barn.The insurance company paid her a total of 7.7 million crowns for damage she allegedly suffered during a windstorm in 2001 and a flooding in 2002.The court said today Barkova was guilty of fraud only in the windstorm case.Barkova's defence lawyer indicated previously that political interests may be behind the case.
He said Barkova could have been used in an attempt to remove Gross (Social Democrats, CSSD) as prime minister.Gross resigned from the post in April 2005 over the unclear financial situation of his family.(USD1=17.630 crowns)
