Employees at Volkswagen's headquarters in Wolfsburg have gathered for a mass demonstration against the European Commission.
Unions predict that 30,000 protesters will demonstrate against the EU's demand that the so-called VW Law be rescinded. Since 1960, the legislation effectively protects Europe's largest carmaker from a hostile takeover by providing the German state of Lower Saxony a blocking minority over major company decisions.
