He has underwent a minor urological surgery. His state is stabilised now, but it will require short-term hospitalisation," Jajtner said.Zeman, who will turn 64 later this month, had kidney troubles in the past already.He suffered from repeated renal colic mainly while in the post of prime minister (1998-2002).In April 2000 he was shortly hospitalised, and in the autumn 2001 doctors removed a kidney stone he suffered from. They said Zeman's troubles stemmed from his irregular and insufficient drinking regime.Zeman voluntarily retired after the CSSD's victory in the mid-2002 elections, second in the row, and he has lived at his country house in south Moravia since.However, he has fallen out with his successors at the helm of the CSSD, now in opposition, and several months ago he even left the CSSD.He still has numerous supporters in and outside the party who would like to see his political comeback. Zeman has dismissed speculations about his plan to return to high politics.
