Pope Benedict XVI who's on the third day of his visit to France is celebrating an outdoor mass at Lourdes with more than 100,000 faithful.
The town near the French part of the Pyreness is marking the 150th anniversary of a peasant girl's religious visions of the Virgin Mary. On Saturday the Pontiff visited the grotto regarded by Catholics as as shrine for spiritual and physical healing. On Monday, Benedict will lead a special mass at Lourdes dedicated to the sick and disabled. Six million people visit the shrine annually.
