US technology giant Hewlett Packard says it plans to cut nearly 25,000 jobs world wide, amounting to around 7.5 percent of its workforce.
Nearly half of the job cuts are to happen in the US, and most at the recently acquired Electronic Data Systems (EDS). Hewlett Packard, the world's leading computer maker, acquired the service provider EDS in August, in a bid to compete better with its chief rival, IBM.
