Pirates off the Somali coast have hijacked another ship, this one a Greek-operated bulk carrier and its crew of 25.
The International Maritime Bureau said the vessel was attacked about 200 nautical miles from the capital Mogadishu while en route to Kenya. A spokesman from the Kuala Lumpur-based agency said that in this year alone, 55 ships have been attacked off Somalia and in the Gulf of Aden. He went on to say that 11 were currently being held for ransom. Earlier this week, French commandos freed a couple seized by pirates in the second such mission this year.
