Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has accused NATO of provoking last month's conflict in Georgia and accused the alliance of being unable to provide security in Europe.
Speaking at a gathering of non-governmental organisations Medvedev also said he did not want disputes with the West to push Russia behind a new iron curtain. Medvedev's comments on the same day as NATO defence ministers continue talks in London aimed at agreeing on how to respond to Russia's invasion of neighbouring Georgia.
