Negotiators trying to form a new cabinet in Zimbabwe have failed to break a deadlock.
A spokesman for the opposition Movement for Democratic Change said the ruling ZANU-PF was not seeking genuine power-sharing and was trying to retain all the key portfolios. President Robert Mugabe signed an agreement to rule together with the MDC and relinquished some of his powers for the first time in nearly three decades. He is supposed to remain as president and head the cabinet while MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai has been designated to be prime minister. A final decision as to the allotment of cabinet posts is now expected to be delayed until Monday.
